Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS visits AGU

Assoc. Prof. Dr M. Naufal M. Saad, Director of International Relation Office at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) visited the Abdulah Gül University campus in Kayseri this Thursday.

After first meeting at the 2019 APAIE Conference in Malaysia, during which Emeric Abrignani, Head of the AGU International Office met with Vice-Chancellors and the UTP International Office team, AGU invited UTP representatives to visit our University.

Established in 1997, UTP today counts around 8000 students (of which 26% are international) and offers 36 study programs. The institution #99 in the QS Asia University Rankings and #151-200 in the QS WUR Subject Rankings for Chemical Engineering.

During Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saad’s visit, he was taken on a campus tour and visited the AGU labs with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evren Mutlugün.

Our guest was then given a presentation of our University and the AGU model and met with Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Irfan Alan and several Heads of Departments and Faculty Deans of AGU.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saad then presented his institution, as well as different collaboration opportunities between AGU and UTP ( including mobility, joint research, joint degrees and internships).

In the afternoon, he met with a group of AGU students already interested in exchange opportunities with UTP and presented the institution to them.


Dr. Saad then met with AGU Rector, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Sabuncuoğlu and Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Cengiz Yılmaz to present the outcomes of his visit as well as for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Student Exchange Agreement.

We enjoyed Dr. Saad’s visit and look forward to a fruitful collaboration between UTP and AGU.
