.This week, the Abdullah Gül University International Office had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Nonemar Hontiveros Gorgonia, International Program Coordinator in the KMUTT Faculty of Engineering, for a job shadowing program.
AGU International Office Director Emeric Abrignani and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) International representatives had first met during the 2018 EAIE Conference in Geneva, after which the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Student Exchange Agreement.
After meeting again during the 2019 APAIE Conference in Kuala Lumpur, both institutions decided to organize this job shadowing.
KMUTT, established in 1960, is a national research university located in Bangkok. The institution, which currently counts around 16.400 students and offers programs in 12 different faculties, has one urban campus, as well as two rural campuses. KMUTT is currently ranked 114th in the Times Higher Education “Asia University Rankings 2018”.
This week of June, KMUTT’s Faculty of Engineering sent Mr. Hontiveros Gorgonia for a week of Job Shadowing, to discover how the AGU International activities are run and how responsibilities are divided.
During his stay, Mr. Hontiveros Gorgonia interacted with AGU International Office staff members to discuss their activities, as well as met with the AGU Rectorate, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evren Mutlugün, Head of the AGU Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Akgün, Head of the AGU Department of Industrial Engineering, as well as Mrs. Zeynep Çiftçibaşı Güç, Director of the AGU Erasmus and Exchange Offices as well as of the AGU Youth Factory
Mr. Hontiveros Gorgonia also visited the Kayseri city center, as well as the world-renowned touristic hub of Cappadocia (40min away from Kayseri) on his last day.
The job shadowing program was very productive and pleasant and we look forward to start collaborating with KMUTT on student and staff exchanges, as well as joint research.
