For the third year in a row, the Abdullah Gül University joined the World’s 3rd largest Education Summit: the APAIE Conference and Exposition (Yearly international event organised by the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education). AGU had previously taken part in the APAIE events in Melbourne (2016) and Kaohsiung (2017).
This year, the Abdullah Gül University, represented by AGU International Office Director, Emeric Abrignani, flew to Singapore for the 13th edition of the APAIE Conference and Exposition, which was hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS), as well as co-hosted by Nanyang Technological University (NTU),Singapore Management University (SMU) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
The event, held at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, welcomed around 3500 participants (academics and higher education professionals) from close to 80 countries, who gathered around this year’s theme:
“The Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Higher Education in the Asia Pacific”
Participants also had the opportunity to discuss a number of sub-themes:
Empowering Future-Ready Graduates
Technological Advances impacting internationalisation in higher education
New modalities in Global Engagement & Mobility
International research competition and collaboration
Participating in the APAIE Conference was the opportunity for AGU to reconnect with existing partners, such as the University of Malaya, the University of Technology Malaysia, as well as Prince of Songkla University, with which our University agreed to further extend our agreement to other Academic Departments and promote each other among their respective students in order to maintain yearly exchanges of students.
AGU also explored new partnership opportunities with multiple European, American and Asian higher education institutions.
During his week in Singapore, Mr. Abrignani also participated in an organised campus tour of the Nanyang University of Technology (NTU).
