In our most recent AGU International Office fair trip, our Head of Office had the opportunity to discover the wonders of Pakistan, as AGU was one of the 13 Turkish Universities to take part in the 9th edition of the Tri-Star Education Turkey Fair in the country.
During the 5-day event, the Abdullah Gül University (AGU) met prospect students and their families in the three capital cities of Pakistan:
- Islamabad, the political capital
- Lahore, the historical capital
- Karachi, the economic capital
All participants traveled by bus between Islamabad and Lahore and by plane to Karachi. The weather was incredibly hot (50°C!) and humid, but many youngsters and their parents braved these extreme conditions in order to visit our fair.
Once again we were impressed by the high academic level of the young candidates (with very elevated HSSC/GCE/SAT/GRE scores) who were interested in joining AGU. But it was also the friendliness of locals that made this stay even more enjoyable.
What was even more interesting (and surprising!), was that two of our newly accepted international students, Hina and Abdulwaris, came to visit our fair stands, in Islamabad and Karachi respectively, to meet with us face-to face!
Abdulwaris, who is originally from the Punjab region, even stayed on to help out at the AGU stand for the two fairs taking place in Karachi; he was able to lend a hand promoting our University and explaining the application process to his compatriots and he was a big help! 🙂
Towards the end of the tour, our Head of Office visited the Habib University of Karachi, a young Liberal Arts University that has great educational ambitions, both on the national and international levels, just like the Abdullah Gül University. The Habib University is very interested in collaborating with AGU and we look forward to concluding a partnership agreement with them soon.
Several Pakistani Recruitment Agents and Professionals also expressed their interest in working together with our University.
It was a very (!) busy week with a full schedule, but it was most definitely worth it! What a wonderful experience to meet all these promising young students and to see their enthusiasm about applying to our University!
Bahut shukriya بہت بہت شکریہ
